WHY CHOOSE NEWTOWN HOCKEY CLUB?

At Newtown Hockey Club everyone in the family can join in on the fun. We welcome all ages and skill levels, offering different grades and expertise levels for everyone to enjoy. From Minkeys/Mods to Masters, there's a place for everyone in our friendly and inclusive club.

Conveniently located at Clyde Park in Boundary Street Glenvale, our club serves as the one-stop venue for all your hockey needs. Say goodbye to extra travelling expenses as all games and training take place at this central location. Plus, with games typically scheduled at the same time on the same day each week, planning your family's activities becomes a breeze.

When it comes to safety, we prioritise the well-being of our players. While every sport carries some level of risk, statistics show that hockey is as safe as dancing, twice as safe as netball, three times safer than soccer, and ten times safer than football codes. Our strict coaching methods and nurturing environment ensure that even the littlest players are well-protected on the field.

Newtown Hockey Club upholds the Toowoomba Hockey Association's strong Fair Play Code of Conduct to promote sportsmanship and respect among all participants.

With over a century of experience on the pitch, the generational wisdom within our club is truly priceless. We are dedicated to offering top quality coaches and team managers who regularly participate in coaching clinics and skills development sessions. Newtown boasts a devoted volunteer base that is instrumental in fostering a love for the sport and ensuring its enduring legacy.

The team camaraderie cultivated within our club is something we are so proud of. Newtown is a perennial contender in premiership finals, proudly showcasing an impressive collection of trophies. We are excited to keep the momentum going strong both on the field and in the net for 2024!
